The next writing prompt in “God Is My Happy Place” is
“How is what you are doing right now preparing you for eternity?”
I think to start with. I have already accepted Christ as my Lord & Savior, so my destination is settled & I know where I am going for eternity.
After that, it is my ambition to be pleasing to God. I know that He is pleased with me, because I am His child. But I also know I have a lot of changes to make both inside & out.
There is a pledge we do in church before the sermon and in it is the phrase, “I’m trying to be more like Christ today than I was yesterday”. This really sums it up.
I am learning to do life with Jesus & trust Him with everything. Letting a bunch of stuff go and leaving it with God. As I go through step study with Celebrate Recovery, God is helping me work through some things. He is doing quite a lot of work on me, both on my actions and on my thought life. I know I have a lifetime of work to do, since I won’t be perfect until Jesus comes back. But I want to improve and please Him.
Therefore, whether we are at home [on earth] or away from home [and with Him], it is our [constant] ambition to be pleasing to Him. For we [believers will be called to account and] must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, so that each one may be repaid for what has been done in the body, whether good or bad [that is, each will be held responsible for his actions, purposes, goals, motives—the use or misuse of his time, opportunities and abilities]. 2 Corinthians 5:9-10 AMP
Keep doing life with Jesus. God bless you!
