The next writing prompt in “God Is My Happy Place” is
“Courage-what makes you feel brave?”
I believe it is all in how I am thinking that dictates whether I feel brave or not. Thoughts produce feelings & feelings produce actions.
I am not even close to brave, when I am not feeling confident in who God says I am. When I’m having downward thought spirals. When I’m battling depression and anxiety at a high frequency. It is in these instances that I don’t feel brave, and in turn, don’t act brave.
But, when I am confident of who I am in Christ, I feel brave. Knowing that He chose me. That He created me the way I am on purpose. I am His child and I belong to Him. I am the object of His affection. He loves me extravagantly. He is my strength. These thoughts give way to feeling confident and brave, so my actions follow in step.
‘The Lord is my strength and my [impenetrable] shield; My heart trusts [with unwavering confidence] in Him, and I am helped; Therefore my heart greatly rejoices, And with my song I shall thank Him and praise Him. ‘ Psalms 28:7 https://my.bible.com/bible/1588/PSA.28.7 AMP
“You Make Me Brave” by Bethel Music and Amanda Lindsey Cook is actually the first thing that started playing on repeat in my head after reading the writing prompt and I wanted to share it with you. The lyrics of this song are like a rehearsal in my mind that God is for me and not against me and that He is the one that makes me brave. Without Him, it wouldn’t even be possible.
Thank you

My granddaughter and I get our allergy shots together, and “You Make Me Brave” is our theme song. She was just a tiny tot when she had to start getting the shots, and we would play the song in the car on the way and sing it together as we were getting our shots. (And yes, she WAS brave. 😊💕)
