I want to cover a couple of related superpowers that God has in this post. First, He is everlasting. Second, He is All-Powerful.
‘ “I am the Alpha and the Omega [the Beginning and the End],” says the Lord God, “Who is [existing forever] and Who was [continually existing in the past] and Who is to come, the Almighty [the Omnipotent, the Ruler of all].” ‘ Revelation 1:8 https://my.bible.com/bible/1588/REV.1.8 AMP
Let’s start off with the fact that He is everlasting. He can’t be killed. He always was and always will be. There never has been & never will be a time when God doesn’t exist. He is infinite. He is the alpha and the omega. He is the beginning and the end. In the Old Testament, He is given the name El Olam (Gen 21:33), which means “God Eternal.”
This next one, I believe, is closely related. He is Omnipotent, which means that He is the strongest being in existence. Nothing can stand against the power of God. He is all-powerful. In the Old Testament, He is also referred to as El Shaddai (Gen 17:1), which means “The Lord God Almighty.”
Recently, I have come across the idea that anxiety is evidence that we have made the world seem bigger than God. So true. When we have God in His proper place, it is easier to see how small the problems/issues in our lives are. I know when I get anxious that my focus is not on God. I’m most likely thinking of all the scenarios that might happen, whether they’re probable or not. And that is placing all that above God, as if He wasn’t big enough to handle the situation.
So far in this series, we have talked about how He is everywhere, knows everything, always was, always will be, & is stronger than anything/anyone. If I keep my mind focused on God and all of His “superpowers”, then I am more at peace, even if life doesn’t look good at the moment. The person or situation may look big, but it can’t even stand before God.
