The next writing prompt in “God Is My Happy Place” is
“God’s Word is full of encouragement and hope. What is your favorite Scripture?”
I have lots of favorite Scriptures. I will list a few of my favorites. I cannot narrow this down to just one. Some of my favorite passages are whole chapters, such as Psalm 23, Psalm 139, Psalm 91, Isaiah 61. I will let you look those up and enjoy. There are so many more. It’s hard to sit down and think of all of them. However, the following verses are a few of them.
‘For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord , “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart. ‘ Jeremiah 29:11-13 https://my.bible.com/bible/111/JER.29.11-13 NIV
‘Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.” ‘ Joshua 1:9 https://my.bible.com/bible/111/JOS.1.9 NIV
‘ “Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes? Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life? “And why do you worry about clothes? See how the flowers of the field grow. They do not labor or spin. Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these. If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will he not much more clothe you—you of little faith? So do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.’ Matthew 6:25-34 https://my.bible.com/bible/111/MAT.6.25-34 NIV
‘The Lord has appeared of old to me, saying: “Yes, I have loved you with an everlasting love; Therefore with lovingkindness I have drawn you.’ Jeremiah 31:3 https://my.bible.com/bible/114/JER.31.3 NKJV
‘Be strong and of good courage, do not fear nor be afraid of them; for the Lord your God, He is the One who goes with you. He will not leave you nor forsake you.”’ Deuteronomy 31:6 https://my.bible.com/bible/114/DEU.31.6 NKJV
