Different But Amazing

“People like us have to live differently, but it doesn’t mean it can’t be an amazing world.”

This is a quote from Agents of Shield Season 2. It was said by Gordon to Raina when trying to comfort her after she changed into what she considered to be hiddeous. I can’t remember the exact wording and I can’t find it anywhere. I got it mostly right, I just can’t remember whether he said amazing or beautiful. Either way, it conveys the same idea.

It reminds me of how, as a Christian, we must live differently from the world. But we still have an amazing life. I would even say my life is more amazing now that I am a Christian.

Many people think that being a Christian is boring, but I don’t think that is the case at all. Many see the restrictions, when it is really freedom.

Before God, everything was so dark. Now I live in His light.
Before God, nothing was as beautiful as it is now.
Before God, I had no direction. Now I am living in the plans God has for me and loving it.
Before God, there seemed to be no meaning. Now my life is full of significance.

This life may be different from the rest of the world, but it is definately amazing.

‘But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a consecrated nation, a [special] people for God’s own possession, so that you may proclaim the excellencies [the wonderful deeds and virtues and perfections] of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light. ‘ 1 Peter 2:9 https://my.bible.com/bible/1588/1PE.2.9 AMP

  1. I think it was C. S. Lewis who said that God’s rules weren’t so much like restrictions as they were like being lost in the woods and finally finding the path. I agree, it’s freedom from confusion
As for the Christian life being “boring,” I like what my new t-shirt says: “If being a Christian is boring, you’re doing it wrong.” 😉
