‘ “So then, in everything treat others the same way you want them to treat you, for this is [the essence of] the Law and the [writings of the] Prophets. ‘ Matthew 7:12 https://my.bible.com/bible/1588/MAT.7.12 AMP

There are many times over my life where I have been amazed at how many people don’t know what the golden rule is or that it came from the Bible. For those who don’t know, the golden rule is to treat others the way you want to be treated.

This got me to thinking, how do I want to be treated. Then I came across the following verse.

‘Be kind and helpful to one another, tender-hearted [compassionate, understanding], forgiving one another [readily and freely], just as God in Christ also forgave you.’ Ephesians 4:32 https://my.bible.com/bible/1588/EPH.4.32 AMP

I want people to be kind and forgiving towards me. So being kind and forgiving towards others is what I should be doing. I try to give grace as much as possible, because I need grace so often. I know I can be frustrating to others and I can be hard-headed. I have been unintentionally rude to people at times. I have forgotten things/events. I have let people down. I have hurt people’s feelings & done some things I shouldn’t.

I am so grateful for the grace I have been shown. So many people have shown me grace and kindness. I’m also grateful for the help I have received from others. I have been helped with bills, chores, understanding things. I’ve been listened to and so much more.

So these are the ways that I should treat others, if that is what I truly appreciate.
