I have read some books recently and would like to share them with you.
And the Angels Were Silent by Max Lucado
This book was amazing. This book walks through the last week of the life of Jesus leading up to the crucifixion. Each chapter is so powerful. I was hanging on every word in this book. I had to make myself read it slower, so that I would really let the information sink in.
The Peace of St Francis by Maria Sticco
This was an interesting read. St Francis’ vow of poverty does seem like he takes the vow to the extreme, but at the same time, the way he lived is outside of what society thinks is the way to live. It gives one something to think about. This book was a little bit of a slow read for me. His life was interesting enough, but I feel like I had a lot of distractions going on at the time.
Winning Balance by Shawn Johnson
Shawn Johnson was an Olympic gymnast. She also won the season she was on Dancing With The Stars. As she puts it, this book is not her autobiography, but a way to reflect on lessons she has learned. At the end of each chapter is a short statement about the lesson she learned. This book is an easy read and I read it pretty quickly.
