Favor

Do I want favor with man or favor with God?

Favor with man is fleeting, but God’s favor is not.

God brought my attention to something and I want to share.

I was reading a story about a historical figure. This particular person gained & lost favor with the earthly king over & over again. Sometimes based on what she did & sometimes based on what others did.

That reminded me of why I can’t put my trust in man. Man’s favor fluctuates on a whim.

Fear of man will prove to be a snare, but whoever trusts in the Lord is kept safe.

God does not change.

Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.
Hebrews 13:8 NIV

I have seen Him give me favor in areas where I shouldn’t have gotten a job, but I did. I’ve seen Him provide financially out of no where. I’ve seen Him mend relationships that seemed unmendable. I’ve seen Him heal both physically & mentally.

I am His child. All of His children are His favorites & have His favor. I know we dont always believe that, but it’s true.

Does that mean that negative things won’t ever happen to us? No it doesn’t. We have an enemy who doesn’t like us & sometimes negative things happen just because that’s life.

Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour.

that you may be children of your Father in heaven. He causes his sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous.
Matthew 5:45 NIV

God is there to get us through it all. He will not leave us or forsake us.

The Lord himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged.”

What, then, shall we say in response to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?

  1. Beautiful!

So often we look at trials as bad things. Some even consider hard times as punishement. Thay are not. My walk with Christ has shown me that the trials of life are actually Favor as well. God allows those He loves to be purified by the fires of life. Strengthened in the furnance and polished through friction.

All, so that we grow closer to Him that loves us. Together with Christ, we stand made powerful in the fire, able to help others traverse the slimy pits of life.

    Love you!

    1. Amen. I completely agree. On the other side of the trial, things seem to work out better than I could have imagined it & many lessons learned as well. So I know that God has a plan through it all.
