It was asked of me a few days ago if I knew what the purpose of God bringing me to Arizona was yet. At the time, I didn’t totally know yet. But as I came home that evening and read my devotion, the verse that was referenced was Matthew 4:19: “Come follow me,” Jesus said, “and I will make you fishers of men.” The devotion talked about being missionaries wherever we go. Being an ambassador for Christ (2 Corinthians 5:20).
God loves everyone so much He sent His Son to die for them. If I’m trying to be more like Jesus every day, then loving people for Him is the goal. I haven’t always been the best at it, but I’m still trying and God’s still working on me.
So the take away is that my purpose is to be God’s missionary wherever I go. Whether I write a book or not. Whether or not some big career gets realized. My purpose is and always will be to be God’s missionary/ambassador.
Working for God is the best thing that could ever happen to me. I couldn’t ask for a better boss. He is better than any earthly boss. He understands me and cares for me more than anyone on this earth ever could. He has promised to take care of me (Philippians 4:19). He will never leave me (Deuteronomy 31:8). I have security in Him (Psalm 16:5/Proverbs 14:26). I never have to worry. That’s my dream job.
