The past two days I have felt kinda blah. Not necessarily sad, anxious, mad, etc. Just blah. There could be several reasons for that I suppose. We haven’t had a lot to do at work, so it was boring. I really didn’t want to make the long drive to and from work.
But today was different. It was an amazing day. And here’s why. I changed my focus. I had been focusing too much on the negative. Well, today I changed what I did.
I woke up and did my normal routine in the house. Read God’s Word. When I got in my car and started driving I turned up KLOVE and sang praises to my God. By the time I made it to work, it was like I had been to church and by that I mean an amazing church service. My attitude and thoughts were much brighter throughout the day. God blessed us with work today and the company provided lunch for us today. On breaks, I would read a blog that was uplifting. Then on the drive home I once again turned up KLOVE and sang all the way home. So great. Now I always listen to this station to and from work, but today I put my heart in it and it changed the atmosphere in my car. I was enjoying the drive. Then when I got home I turned on the Hour of Power and listened to Dwight Shephard, one of my favorite pastors, while I did chores. Then I was blessed to relax with my husband for a couple of hours before it was time to come write. It was like my whole day was a church service.
I encourage you to do what it takes to change the atmosphere in your home, car, work, etc. Surround yourselves with music that uplifts and gives praise to God. Listen to messages from pastors. Read God’s Word. Do what it takes to get more of God.
Why are you downcast, O my soul? Why so disturbed within me? Put your hope in God, for I will yet praise him, my Savior and my God. Psalm 42:5
I will praise God’s name in song and glorify him with thanksgiving. Psalm 69:30
